5.8GHz Frequency-Hopping Digital Spread Spectrum (FHSS) Operation
5.8GHz technology operates on a different wavelength with much less traffic than 2.4GHz technology, yet maintains outstanding levels of security, clarity and range. FHSS technology improves calling range and clarity, and eliminates cross talk. Because it rapidly changes transmission frequencies within the 5.8GHz bandwidth, this cordless system helps reduce the possibility of eavesdropping.
Wireless Network Friendly
5.8GHz Technology will not interfere with wireless computer networks using 900MHz or 2.4GHz technology.
Plug-and-Play Installation
Give your home or home office the features of a sophisticated telephone system without the high price tag. Panasonic 5.8GHz cordless phone systems operate via cordless transmissions, so no expensive (and messy) wiring or installation is required. Simply hook up the base to your phone line to the base unit and plug it into an AC outlet. The charger for the included handset is built into the base unit. Up to seven more optional handsets (each with an included recharging stand) can be added to the system, either right away or as your needs grow. It's that simple!
Expandable up to Eight Handsets
This system comes with a base unit and one cordless handset. Add up to seven additional handsets anywhere in the home or office while using only one base unit and one phone jack. This eliminates the need to rewire your phone line to other parts of the house.
1.6" Full-Color (65k Color) Backlit LCD on Handset
1.6-inch, high-resolution color LCDs show images -- in up to 65,000 colors -- that have been downloaded via the included handset USB port. These LCDs also provide access to large icons for easy programming and one-touch access to various telephone features.
Talking Caller ID*
Panasonic's cordless models are the only telephones to use true Text-to-Speech software to phonetically speak the names received by the Caller ID feature, as well as display the caller's name and number on the phone's LCD display. This advanced technology, exclusive to Panasonic, is available on the KX-TG5566M system.

Call Waiting Caller ID*
Displays the name and number of incoming callers* on the handset's LCD, even if you're on another call.

Picture ID*
Known for their cutting-edge product innovations, Panasonic takes Caller ID to the edge with a new Picture ID feature. First, users program a downloaded picture to a given phone number. Later, when that number is detected by the phone's Caller ID feature, the picture appears on the 1.6-inch, high-resolution color LCD on the handset.

Ringer ID*
Choose from a downloaded or selectable ringer tone to link to a preprogrammed phone number in your phone book. When a call comes in from that phone number number, the preselected ringer tone will sound.

Light-Up ID*
Lets you program the phone to associate one of four colored LEDs located at the end of the handset antenna with a specific phone number. When a call from that number is received, the antenna blinks the pre-programmed color.

Handset and Base Unit Speakerphones
Digital Duplex speakerphone on the base unit enables convenient, high-quality hands-free conversations. Digital circuitry helps reduce echo and the dropout effect for more natural sounding conversations. A speakerphone is located on the back of the phone's handset, offering convenient, hands-free operation even away from the base.

True Voice Paging
This feature works much like a public address system and allows a user near the base unit to "page" one or all of the connected handsets simultaneously. At home, for example, it can be used to call the family to dinner; or in a small office setting, to page staff members for an impromptu meeting.
4-Way Conferencing
You can conference the base unit and up to three system handsets together with one outside call.
Light-Up Antenna with Ringer/Message Alert
A great visual alert, a light on the end of select cordless handsets blinks quickly when the phone rings and flashes at a slower rate if a message is waiting on your phone company voice mail, if you are subscribed to this service.
Dual Keypads Handset and Base
Dual keypads allow you to make calls from the base or its handset.
Chain Dial
