Product Overview: The Xact XTR-1 Stream Jockey is a portable Sirius Satellite tuner. When connected to an Xact Home Kit, Vehicle Kit, Power Pod, or Boombox, this plug and play receiver can receive 120 channels of Sirius satellite radio, including 65 100% commercial-free digital quality music streams. A subscription to Sirius is also required in order to receive Sirius satellite programming. A wireless remote control is included for operation from a remote location.

Display: The Stream Jockey's display has a 1-5/8" x 1" amber dot matrix display. The display features up to 6 lines of information.

Display Settings: The Stream Jockey features a menu that allows you to adjust the display brightness and contrast. A 10-segment bar graph is displayed to assist you in adjusting the display settings.

FM Transmitter: The unit's built-in FM Transmitter lets you listen to satellite radio over your existing FM radio in your home or vehicle. You can choose any transmitting frequency in the FM band between 88.1 MHz to 107.9 MHz. If you choose not to use the FM transmitter, you can turn it off in the menu.

Categories: The streams are divided into 12 categories to make it easier to locate a specific stream. There are 9 music categories (Pop, Rock, Country, Hip-Hop, R&B/Urban, Dance/Electronic, Jazz/Standards, Classical, and Latin & World. The non-music categories are News, Traffic & Weather, Sports, and Talk & Entertainment. From the front-mounted controls and display, you can switch from category to category, then once you have located the correct category, you can tune the channels up or down to locate the desired channel.

Searching Music: There are several ways to search for and select music: by channel name, by the artist/composer, or by song title. Using the display selector, you can show the channel name, plus the titles or the artists of all of the currently playing songs to assist you in selecting a channel.

Presetting Channels: You can preset 18 channels on this unit for quick tuning. There are 6 preset bands (labeled A, B, C, D, E, and F), and each band contains 3 specific channels. You can view your presets 6 at a time using the channel name display, artist/composer display, or the song title display.

S-Seek Function: When a song you want to save is played, you can store the information in memory. Each time that song is played, the Stream Jockey will alert you and give you the option of tuning to the stream where that song is playing. You can store up to 10 songs in the memory. You can turn the S-Seek function on or off as desired.

Tuning Options: To narrow your tuning options, you can select only certain channels to be shown on the display. The Channel Add/Skip option lets you add or skip channels that your receiver can tune. Skipped channels can be added back to the list by following the proper procedure. You can limit access to particular channels if you desire by "locking" them and require entering a 4-digit password.

Time Features: The Stream Jockey's internal clock allows you to access several time features:

• Clock:  The time is kept by Sirius satellite and is transmitted in GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) format. The Stream Jockey can be set to display in any time zone in a 12-hour or 24-hour format. You can also indicate whether your region observes Daylight Saving Time.
• Alarm Clock: You can set the Stream Jockey to turn on at a selected time.
• Program Alert: This option lets you set the unit to automatically tune to a pre-selected channel at a pre-selected time.
• Auto Shutdown: The unit can be set to automatically shut itself off after an hour of inactivity. An audible tone will sound before the device turns off.
• Sleep Mode: You can set the Stream Jockey to automatically turn off after a pre-selected amount of time. The sleep mode can be set to 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes.

Headphone Output: For private listening, you can plug a set of stereo headphones into the plug-and-play unit. The Stream Jockey features a 3.5mm (1/8") headphone jack on the side of the unit.

As with all plug-and-play systems, you'll need to buy at least one of the available accessory kits along with the tuner for the system to work. The big Xact advantage: they supply lots of options for taking your tuner with you just about everywhere you go. These include:

• the vehicle kit features a docking station, antenna, DC (cigarette lighter) power adapter, and minijack-to-RCA output cable (for connecting the tuner, via the docking station, to your stereo's auxiliary input, if it has one; if it doesn't, you can use the system's wireless FM modulator to play the signal over any FM car stereo);
• the home kit features a docking station, antenna, AC power adapter, and minijack-to-RCA output cable;
• the Sound System boombox features a dock for the tuner, a pair of 4" full-range speakers, an auxiliary input (for adding a portable player, such as an iPod), and a built-in antenna;
• the Sound System Deluxe boombox includes all the features of the Sound System, plus CD/MP3 disc playback and AM/FM reception;
• the Power Pod Portable Battery Pack is a personal SIRIUS player, with a built-in rechargeable battery, portable case, antenna, and earphones.
